On June 10, 2021 there was an annular eclipse of the sun. A solar eclipse represents not only the energy of the dark new moon, but the energy of a complete cycle concentrated into a few hours. This particular eclipse occurs in a moment of great energy and potential, the beginning of summer, the growing season and in a moment when the human collective seemed to be emerging from a sort of chrysalis created by the global pandemic. The following day, On June 11, 2021, Jessica Rosen performed WAY WILL OPEN, a sonic ritual and seed planting to celebrate this moment and harness the energy of the solar eclipse to open a path for new growth. This ritual was be guided by mantra, sacred instruments, electronic frequencies and a custom electro-acoustic prayer wheel all intended to channel energy into the literal seeds that we will plant during the ceremony and continue to sow moving forward into a new future.
